Helping the Homeless | I Have a Dream...
Updated: Nov 22, 2019
I have a dream. Now that the end of the year is closed and audits have been filed, my accounting job has calmed down. I’ve been doing a lot of daydreaming and I’ve decided to start making my dreams a reality. I have a passion to help the homeless. I’ve always felt and seen how they are the members in society that people often treat as invisible because they don’t know how to respond. I believe that to help the homeless we need to see them, listen to their hearts and help them get back onto their feet. I want to help the homeless become artists, where they can paint with volunteers who listen and connect with them, use their artwork on posters, mugs, t-shirts, etc. & sell the products to create an income to help each artist out of extreme poverty.
I’m just starting out, so if you can help in any of the following ways I’d greatly appreciate it!
I’m looking for a small number of people who would enjoy joining me to sit with homeless people around the Hillsboro/Portland area to paint/draw.
I’ve been working on selling art products on http://paintdropsart.com if you have any expertise in marketing, social media management, or have feedback/comments on the site, please let me know!
Any donations (Art supplies are welcomed, as well as anything we can also give to a few homeless people at a time such as socks, jackets, blankets, etc.) or purchases (of the artwork on PAINTDROPS, art) are very helpful!
The way that ANYONE can help is by liking my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Creatingopportunitiesforus/), follow my instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/creatingopportunitiesforus/), share and like posts and spread the word!
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments, I’d love to hear from you!
